Job Description:

A typical day in the life of a Pharmacy Technician will include the following:The Pharmacy Technician responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate informationContacting patients, pharmacists and doctors offices to resolve claims issuesProcessing prescriptions (from intake to order completion)Resolving customer issues; ensuring accurate information is providedNavigate computer system to review and confirm prescriptions orders and information ensuring that automated fulfillment is correctManually dispenses orals, liquid medications and medical supplies according to standard procedures and protocolsMaintain dispensing units ensuring they are filled with correct products, returns products that are no longer valid due to recalls, supply issues, etc.This includes maintaining proper inventory and storage of drug by filling dispensing units and monitoring and adjusting pharmacy equipment.Process, pack or ship pharmacy orders to include the counting and dispensing of medications, accurate labeling and packing in appropriate manner for shipment within the required time framesBring in packages from the receiving dock areaAssist with inventory management/replenishment as directed by the Pharmacist(s)Replenish Shipping supplies for production areaThis job might be for you if (must have requirements of the role):The candidate must possess the following personal attributes:Detail orientedProfessional telephone etiquetteAbility to successfully complete Pharmacy Operations training classes and demonstrate proficiency of the materialFamiliarity with computer and Windows PC applications, which includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applicationAbility to multitask effectivelyAbility to work in a fast-past environmentAbility to recognize emotions and their effectsSureness about self-worth and capabilitiesManage disruptive impulsesMaintain standards of honesty and integrityTake responsibility for performanceBe adaptable and handle change with flexibilityBe innovative and open to new ideasAchievement driven; constant striving to improve or to meet a standard of excellenceAlign with the goals of the group or organizationReady to take initiative and act on opportunitiesBe optimistic and pursue goals persistently despite obstacles and setbacksBe service oriented and anticipate, recognize and meet needs of others, including patients and care partnersCommunicate clearly and send clear messagesPhysical Demands:While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to sit, use hands to type, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The ability to type 35 WPM with 97% accuracy is required.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements due to computer work. Light to moderate lifting may be required.Ability to travel as neededRequirements:National Pharmacy Tech CertificationHigh School Diploma RequiredPossess current KY pharmacy tech license or ability to obtain license within the first week of start dateRetail or Hospital Pharmacy experience preferredAll employees working onsite in a PharmaCord facility are strongly encouraged to be vaccinated against COVID-19We are located at 11001 Bluegrass Parkway, Louisville, KY. You must be willing to work in this location; PharmaCord does reimburse for tolls if applicable, at the frequent user rate.
